We are excited to extend this invitation to our 9th annual marching competition. We strive to make this an educational and fun experience for your students. Judging is based upon how well a band performs the show it presents.
Trophies are awarded for Superior Ratings, and Best in Class awards will be presented to the highest rated unit in each caption for each classification containing two or more bands.
Classification is based on the number of winds and percussion (including front ensemble/pit). Order of performance will be based upon the total number of performers. Bands may enter a higher classification, but not a lower one.
5 Classifications:
A– up to 40
AA– 41-65
AAA– 66-90
AAAA– 91-120
AAAAA- 121- up
Olympic style judging– 5 band judges; the highest and lowest scores for each band will be dropped. This ensures that each band's scores are indicative of its level of performance and eliminates the risk of "outlying" scores.
Band Judges:
Betty Bates
Jeremy Benson
Jon Bubbett
Curtis Burttram
Chris Hagler
Percussion:
Chris Moore
Drum Major:
Leigh Thomas
Colorguard:
Amy Hagler
Danceline/Majorette:
Allison Brown
Auxiliary units will receive a rating regardless of size, but must have at least 3 members in order to be eligible for Best in Class awards.
The Snead State Community College Jazz Band will be performing in exhibition during the dinner break, and the University of North Alabama Marching Pride will perform in exhibition before the awards ceremony!
Registration deadline is September 23rd!
It is NOT necessary to mail a hard copy of the registration form if registering electronically.
Please mail registration fee of $100 to:
